TREND: Paint Dipped Furniture

One trend that I really love is the paint dipped look. I've been seeing it everywhere lately: half painted tables, chairs, spoons, baskets, anything. And they literally look like they were dipped in a bucket of paint. You can pretty much dip anything both furniture and accessories for an instant upgrade.

You can approach this trend one of two ways: using painter's tape to get a smooth dividing line, or literally dipping your accessories to get that imperfect, dripping finish. I'm personally a fan of both.

I love this trend so much that I'm going to give it a try this weekend with a side table I'm taking out of the dining room to use as a nighstand in the guest room. If it works out well, I may just dip some more furniture!

These stools are the color/style that I plan to dip the table that currently resides in the corner of our dining room. It really is serving no real purpose in there and I think will be better suited as a side table in our guest room next to the bed. The space between the bed and walls is minimal so something tall and thin like that table is ideal.

This one is my inspiration for the sofa table in our bedroom. How cool would it be to have the top dipped pink and the legs dipped gold? If I have luck with the smaller nightstand, I am definitely tackling our sofa table.

April Photo a Day Recap

I'm finally getting around to recapping the April Photo a Day Instagram Challenge. I'm excited to say I finally completed this one! It was hard and there were days I was tempted to skip, but I toughed it out. Jordan had offered to do the challenge along with me to keep me motivated and I even outlasted him! Here the topics for each day, followed by my photos for all.

I missed the boat on May's challenge. It started when we were on vacation and I didn't even think to look up the topics until a few days in. Maybe I'll jump back in for June.

iPad Case Crush

I'm on the hunt for an iPad case. Jordan and I jumped on the iPad bandwagon and treated ourselves. Although Jordan went for the Apple brand case, I want something with some color or a pattern to the design. While on the hunt for the perfect case, I found so many great options at a variety of price points. I'm having a hard time deciding which case to get! One thing I definitely want is a case that the iPad can be in while in use. A lot of the cases I've found are simply sleeves and offer no protection while you are actually using the iPad.

Do you have an iPad case that you love? I'd love to hear more options.

Two Years

Two years ago today I married my best friend, my soulmate, my biggest fan, my partner in crime,  the one who makes me laugh the hardest, my protector, my inspiration, my love.

We've been married for two years, but together for seven. I thought it would be fun to look back at some photos through the last seven years.

Happy Anniversary, Jordan! I love you.

Wall O' Wedding Turned Wall O' Family

As I mentioned yesterday, I updated the gallery wall in our living room. The dark furniture, dark pillows, dark floor, dark frames, etc. were just too much. A while back I took the metal leaf out of the room and repainted it gold for the guest room. I also swapped out the orange and dark pillow colors for more neutral grey and white patterns. The next step in brightening up the living room was to adjust the gallery wall. I wanted to swap out the photos anyway since we've creeped up on two years that we've been married and the wall o' wedding has served it's purpose. Now that we have LJ, I wanted to frame more family oriented photos, and add a few non-black and white in the mix.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Here is a side by side comparison:

Here is a shot of all the photos up close. A lot of the pictures are recent ones taken during or around our recent vacation. You will see I did keep the one wedding photo of Jordan and me walking in the reception. That picture is my favorite photo of the entire wedding. I also framed the photo strips we took home from a wedding we attended last fall. I love the pictures so much and we had such a good time that night.

I kept a few black and white shots in the mix, but decided to add some color to half of them. I'm nowat the point that I don't need all of my photos to be black and white. (Sorry for the glare. Any tips on photographing glass in daylight are welcomed!)

And you might remember the LOVE print I purchased from Clover Market. It was framed and found it's place on the wall, too.

What do you all think? Better and brighter?
