Guest Room: First Coat

Last night the first coat of paint went on the walls in the guest room.
Already the room is starting to look more put together.

As a recap, here is the room when it was dark and green.

Here it was Monday after a coat of primer.

And here is the guest room as it stands now with it's first coat of paint.

I know, I know. It looks very WHITE. Which is why I'm excited to start implementing the gold accents. I'm still debating if I want to add any other accent colors or if I want to stick to my original gold and white theme.

I plan to remove the TV from the room and give it a new home in the basement so I can use it when I work out. There actually isn't even a cable line in the guest bedroom and we simply had it in there hooked up to a DVD player. I've been using it to keep me sane while painting, but once the room is painted we really will have no need for it in the room.

Also, the furniture placement is a bit odd and may look slightly cramped since the bed is actually pullled away from the back wall and is currently in the middle of the room.

For those of you wondering, here is the paint I used on the walls.

It's Martha's Stewart's "Lamb." It's the same white color I used for the stripes in Lucy's nursery. When I went to get the paint at Home Depot I learned that the Martha Stewart paint line has been discontinued and moved over to Glidden. So for your MS paint lovers, no fear. Her line isn't really 'gone' it has just been moved to a different brand and they can still produce the same colors she had in her line.

You can also see that this paint is a low odor formula, much like the primer I used. I must say I'm pretty impressed with both the primer and paint. Neither of them left an awful paint smell for days like I'm used to from previous paint jobs.

I'll get to the second coat of paint on Saturday when Jordan is home and can watch LJ.
After that I still have the trim and inside the closet to paint. And then it's time to decorate and DIY. :)
